I’m trying to do the firmware update released by Hologram, which according to this post(https://community.hologram.io/t/updatin … eld/3562/5) has worked for them. I was stuck at the same place- could open sockets, but could not connect to TCP socket to communicate with Hologram cloud. Hologram released a firmware update for their board, the Nova, but it seems like this update might be able to update the ublox R410 on the Sparkfun shield as well.
Anyways, I connected the VUSB_DET jumper on the back and made sure it was shorted, then tried to connect it to both a Raspberry Pi 2 and my windows desktop to try to push the firmware but both devices were not able to register a connection. After holding the “POWER” button on the shield for a couple of seconds, the shield(/modem) shows up on my device list but right away toggles off again.
Was anybody able to communicate with the shield via USB?
