I’ve updated the ublock chips, and the esp32. I don’t see the RTK Config offered on any of my devices (win 10, cell, android tablet), and all timeout when I type 192.168.4.1. I go into my router management and don’t see it reject any request to join from that addr.

I was able to get my cell to somehow connect once to each receiver so I screenshot the configs. Part of it seems to be that it doesn’t want to stay connected because there is no internet. But even when I tell it to stay connected it works 1? out of 5 trys.
I was able to ‘fix’ it. When I got 'lucky and the units communicated I set up the connection to my router. Now I have a solid connection. However, It turns out I had a typo on the ssid on the 2’nd unit. I tried re-flashing both the esp and the zed to reset the unit to factory setting since I had ‘no wifi’ in the setup menu. No joy. Then I tried the usb connection to the esp, and saw that the arduino serial monitor would be a tool. Plugged in and the module was talking. So I figured I would try typing help; and up pops the config menu. Then I just had to figure out how to back out to get the correct value written to firmware. It also now works.
However, is there a way to force the unit back to factory settings? This was a good learning lesson, and I’m simply posting this help others if they get stuck. So, how / can you force a factory reset?
