PCI to Parallel Question

Hello

Does anyone have a conversion table for PCI direct connect to parallel pinout for custom card/pcb.

Like

Pin#1 on Parallel port = Pin#? on PCI card edge

Pin#2 on “” “” = Pin#? on PCI card edge

Pin#3 … etc, etc.

Thanks

It doesn’t work that way. You need an IC of some sort (Host to PCI Bridge) to handle the exchange of data between the PCI bus and the outside world. Many FPGA’s have the capability to do this. Off hand I don’t know if there is a specific chip (other than a Southbridge IC) that does what you are looking for.

Here is a good write-up on the PCI bus and how it works: http://www.tech-pro.net/intro_pci.html

And here is a FPGA project involving PCI: http://www.fpga4fun.com/PCI.html

There are specific chips for this purpose. Take a look at:
