PureThermal Mini Pro JST-SR (with FLIR Lepton 3.5)

The camera i have received works if I put thumb behind the board and press it. I dont think it is on off switch but seems to be some conductivity or hardware connectivity issue. Not sure if others using PureThermal Mini Pro JST-SR (with FLIR Lepton 3.5) are facing the same. It is brand new and if I keep the thumb behind provides perfect heat image but stops working as soon as contact is removed. Attached are images , if thumb is pressed, it works and I changed the cable but same effect.

Please share photos of both sides of the module

What cable is being used?

I am using the cable from from Groupgets JST-SR Cable. I made a video also but it is not letting me upload here. Says I am a new user and can upload one image only

Videos have to be shared as links (to youtube, google drive, etc)

Share photos of the other side

Please see below image of the other side. If I press my thumb on back side of the other side, it starts blinking white and works fine.

It might be my eyes playing tricks on me but it looks like the module isn’t fully seated; release the clips and gently/slowly re-insert the module

(this clip appears un-clipped, usually it requires unclipping the others and re-trying all 3 at once instead of just mashing this one)

I tried many times but same issue. Is there a video or steps to ensure clips are properly done. It works fine as soon as I press on back so it is loose connection or broken holder. But I am not sure if I can return it or can do troubleshooting on my own.

No, but essentially you carefully pull each tab while applying slight lift from underneath to un-seat/un-clip them one at a time and then you pull it straight outward (this part is touchy, it has to be kept square and gentle)

If you’d rather swap it out - Was it purchased from us? If so head over to www.sparkfun.com/returns (contact vendor if purchased elsewhere) and we’ll get ya squared away
