I’m working on this surface-mount based design where I want to measure an external resistance value that’s connected to the board using wires. Basic idea is to have two via holes, one connected to ground, the other connected to an analogue pin. There’s a switch connected between the two vias with the resistance behind it, so when the switch is pressed, the resistance appears between the input and ground.
How do I represent this in schematic view? the PCB is simple enough, but I’m not sure how to go about showing this in the schematic view.
Eagle has “pads” that can be added as part of the schematic. I don’t have the library in front of me at the moment but I know they are in there because I use them frequently as test points.

or just use a thru-hole resistor from the RCL library; so you actually have the resistor symbol on the schematic, and two holes for the wires.
Because a through-hole resistor part from a library has the pads at a given distance from each other and that's what you're stuck with.
