I’m not getting LEDs connected to the PIO ports to light on the Roving Networks RN-XV (RN-171). Did anyone else get this to work?
I’ve successfully connected the device, pulling pin 8 low to get it in ad-hoc mode. I wired pins 2 & 3 together to create a null modem connection. Sending information to the device results in the information being echoed back.
I’m able to put it in command mode, and it echoes CMD back.
After 0.5 seconds, I then send these commands:
set sys mask 0x21f2
set sys output 0x0002 0x0002
I would expect an LED on pin 9 to light at this point. It doesn’t. The same LED placed on pin 4 does light, showing it’s not damaged and I’m not enough of a NOOB to plug it in backwards.
The User Manual had a short note about using
set sys mask 0x21f2 1
to set the mask immediately; this did not work, either–but I did get the error

Any thoughts?
