Just received my Rn-171XV. Followed the instruction to bring it up in Adhoc mode but for some reason I am not see the network appear on my iPhone. I have 3.0 v on pin 1, found on pin 10, and 3.0 v on pin 8. I have a solid green light as long as pin 8 remains connected. I have tried removing pin 8 after start up ( green led goes out). I have tried keeping pin 8 connected. In either case I do not see the network being broadcast.
What am I doing wrong? Does the power have to be 3.3v in order to work?
