Hi All,
Presently my RTK Postcard (version 2.1), when used as a Base Station in the Survey-in configuration, loses the ability to start the Survey-in mode again after I power cycle the RTK Postcard, and displays this message on the serial link: Waiting for Horz Accuracy < 2.00 (m): 0.00, SIV: 38. Notice the received accuracy value of 0.00, which never changes, even when the SIV value is 38 satellites. It appears that the satellite receiver is not providing a received accuracy value of other than 0.00?
If I go to the Configuration settings, select the System Menu, select “Reset all settings to default”, and reconfigure the RTK Postcard to the “Base” configuration with Survey-in after the reset, the RTK Postcard will perform the Survey-in with the default settings of 60 sec and 2.0 m. However, if I power cycle the RTK Postcard, it will not start the Survey-in because it appears to be waiting for a Horizontal Accuracy value of other than 0.00 which never changes after the power cycle.
Is there a Configuration setting that I have missed that causes this Survey-in issue, described above, after a power cycle of the RTK Postcard?
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
TCIII
Hi Sparky,
I had my RTK Postcard on backorder for about a month. It shipped on June 23rd and I received it on June 30th. Could it be a recent production issue?
Should I attempt to reload the RTK Everywhere version 2.1 and see if that helps?
Regards,
TCIII
Hi Sparky,
Since I haven’t heard from you by this morning, I decided to do the following:
Reinstalled RTK Everywhere v2.1 on my RTK Postcard.
Performed a reset to factory defaults after the reinstall.
Set the Mode to Base
Started the Survey-in and made sure that it completed correctly and was transmitting RTCM messages.
Power cycled the RTK Postcard to start the Survey-in again.
Unfortunately, No Joy as I received the same message on the serial link: Waiting for Horz Accuracy < 2.00 (m): 0.00, SIV: 38.
Downloaded and installed Release Candidate v2.2RC.
Performed a reset to factory defaults after the install.
Set the Mode to Base.
Started the Survey-in and made sure that it completed correctly and was transmitting RTCM messages.
Power cycled the RTK Postcard to start the Survey-in again.
And again, No Joy as I received the same message on the serial link: Waiting for Horz Accuracy < 2.00 (m): 0.00, SIV: 38.
This Survey-in issue has really gotten me mystified and hopefully you can help me sort it out.
The Quectel LG290P GNSS RTK receiver is loaded with firmware v3.0.

Hi Sparky,
Since my RTK Postcard will not go into Survey-in after a power cycle, because it appears that there is no received accuracy value from the Quectel LG290P GNSS RTK receiver, why does “resetting all settings to default” cure the Survey-in issue until the next power cycle?
It seems like the ESP32 is not maintaining my selected configuration in profile 1 during a power cycle as the only setting I have changed is the Mode setting from Rover to Base and all other settings are at the default setting?

@bamarcant,
Thanks for the response and the links, however I disagree about Survey-in as I have a Sparkfun ZED-F9P Base Station that reach an Accuracy value of less than 0.6 meters after a survey period of 600 seconds which is more than sufficient for autonomous RC Car outdoor racing.

Hi Sparky,
As a last resort I took bamarcant’s suggestion and updated the Quectel LG290P GNSS RTK receiver firmware to v5.0 from the as received v3.0 and that solved my Survey-in won’t restart after a RTK Postcard power cycle.
Additionally, the Quectel LG290P GNSS RTK receiver firmware update has resulted in a received Accuracy value of less than 0.3 meters after a 60 sec Survey-in period which is somewhat better than my Sparkfun ZED-F9P Base Station of around 0.5 meters after a Survey-in period of 600 sec.

Hi TCIII - Glad to hear you got a work around in place Sorry for the delay. I recorded your issue here and have a fix in place for future LG290P users who have <= v03.
