Servo Trigger tied to 110v outlet

I am trying to control a fan and two relays on a timer. I want to use a plug like this https://www.primecables.ca/en/p-368982- … #sku381085 that has one wifi outlet and one normal outlet. I want to use the normal outlet to provide the power to the servos then run the fan off the other outlet. Then I can use the app for controller the outlet to set a timer for the fan. I want the servos to open blast gates so that air only comes in when the fan is running.

My question is, is it possible to have the servos open when power turns on to the fan and then close when the power goes off? I was looking at the sparkfun servo trigger board but not sure if that would work for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There’s no way to connect 110VAC to the board unfortunately but you could use a relay to act as a go-between.

What you need is a relay with a 120 volt AC coil. Connect that to your fan and when the fan comes on, the contacts in the relay will close. When the fan turns off, the contacts will then open. Just connect the contacts to your Servo Trigger and it will change states along with the fan.

You do need to keep the Servo Trigger powered long enough for the servo to change positions though. It’s OK to leave it powered all the time if you want though.
