My computer does not detect the SparkFun Thing Plus - Artemis board. I have tried different USB ports, different cables, and different computers. It lights up, but the computer does not detect it. Could someone please suggest a fix?

If you use it on Windows, do you get a COM-poort assigned when you plug in the cable?
No, I don’t see the device in Device Manager—no COM port assigned.
I see 2 options :
The USB cable is a power cable only. You already mentioned you have used different cables. Are you sure one of them is able to handle data? can you check by connecting another devices (e.g. mobile)?
The Sparkfun thing plus board is broken.
Hey, I used a mac instead. It now detects the board, I see the COM port however on Arduino ide its shows the port but not the spark fun thing plus - Artemis board.

You have to select the board you’re using, it doesn’t show up automatically.
