I want to use this sensor in my project but one of the biggest concerns is the angle of acceptance and emittance of the infrared beam. I understand that the angle is at 2.3degrees, the question is if I apply a clear/transparent epoxy resin to encapsulate the sensor will this affect the angle(FoV) at which the infrared laser is coming out?

Hello, and thanks for writing.

Encapsulating the sensor will very likely affect the optics on the TF Mini. (Or any other LIDAR sensor) We’ve not ever tested this and I can not say if the sensor will function correctly if it has been encapsulated or not. You’d need to try this on your own, but you would be doing so at your own risk.
