Unable to communicate with data logger on pc

Absolutely no luck communicating with the Datalogger model 2246. I followed instructions to a “T” connected to the compatible Enviro combo sensor via a QWIIC cable and a usb to the computer. I tried several different serial programs Realterm, Putty, and TeraTerm, all set to the correct Com port and 115200 baud data rate, also multiple usb cables. The datalogger led does light up green and then flashes blue, the sensor breakout led stays red. It does write csv data to the microsd card, however the terminal program is unresponsive even after pressing the boot and reset buttons on the board.

Did I buy a dud or are more (undocumented) steps required to make this work?

Not usually!

What does the terminal screen look like?
Have you tried any other COM ports?

You also might need to right-click & select ‘Run as Admin’ (or sudo, or equivalent) on the terminal app for serial comms on some machines
