Verify Gerber files

Hello everyone

I am new here and I’d like to ask how can you check your gerber files. I used Viewplot to check everything and there weren’t any short circuits or anything. But I can’t see the top solder layer alone when I choose the .cmp file. I see all the layers. Is that a problem? The files that were generated from Eagle are :

.sts

.stc

.sol

.plc

.gpi

.cmp

.dri

.drd

In Viewplot you should be able to select only the CMP layer from the “View->Viewable Objects” menu. Make sure you select the “Show only active layer”.
