Hi,
I have two Xbee Pro 900:
No. 1) Xbee connected to the Xbee Explorer USB and then to my PC
No. 2) Xbee connected to the Xbee Explorer Regulated and then connected to an FTDI chip and then to my PC
I am able to send data from Xbee 1 and then view the data received by Xbee 2.
However if I send data from Xbee 2 the data recieved by Xbee 1 just appears as dots in the terminal program.
I notice that on the Xbee 1 in the terminal program the CTS status is green and on Xbee 2 the CTS is black.
Any idea what is wrong?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

dots mean a baud rate mismatch, I’d guess.
Do both work properly with XCTU’s modem setup tool?

Both devices have the same baud rate set in the X-CTU program

The test/query function in X-CTU fails on Xbee 2.

I think the FTDI board maybe faulty - I will buy a new one and see if that fixes it.

i think your problem is the diode in the way of the pin for communication.
i am using two Xbee Pro 900 with Xbee Explorer Regulated and had problems like you.
You need to put a wire between the Xbee Din and the Din pin on the Explorer or make a bridge over the diode, but i failed to bridge directly over the diode on the board because of the small form factor.

if you want to see how i did it (it is not nice but it works) i think i can post a picture.
